Re: Danger, Danger, Danger!
If you are wondering where this phrase came from, it was something that the Robot said on ‘Lost In Space.’ He said it when the Robinson Family was in danger, and more specifically when “Will Robinson” was in danger. Lost In Space, was a goofy sci-fi, primetime television program that my kids grew up watching. It had a certain appeal at the time, because it was a takeoff on a book and story, ‘Swiss Family Robinson.’ The only difference between the two was, ‘Lost In Space’ was set in space, and on a planet far away from Earth, and ‘Swiss Family Robinson’ was a about a family living life on a deserted island. It was a way to escape the troubles of our time, and to identify with what it might feel like to be lost in space, and somewhere other than Earth.
With that said, I am issuing this warning to all of us including myself. I take the word of the Spirit very seriously, and only want to say what He is saying through me. So hunker down and ease in to what I am going to share with you.
I believe that Holy Spirit showed me something about all of these social networks. With that said, I am not going to name all of them; but MySpace, FaceBook and YouTube are among the world’s largest. Now we have Ning, BeBo, Viddler and more. To be honest with you, I am issuing this warning to all of my friends, as well as those who have found their way into my life through social networking. Now, before you fast-forward and miss an opportunity to hear my heart, I am asking you to keep reading and let my words gently persuade your heart to listen.
I am beginning to see a great danger in most of what we have been doing, and it is my responsibility to speak to it. Firstly, I want to make it clear to you that the primary reason that I am on any of these social networks, is to network, fellowship and relate. I created thesummit.ning.com for a specific purpose of networking with ministries and businesses.
I am appealing to ministries and businesses who understand by the Spirit where we need to go from here. It is a place where ministries and businesses can come together for the greater purpose of the Kingdom of Yahweh. It is not about useless dialogue, pet doctrines, or your slant on things. If all you are interested in is promoting your ministry and business, then thesummit.ning.com will not benefit you or any of the people that you invite. It is about coming together for the greater purpose of the Kingdom, and helping one another in the work. It is a resource network for ministries and businesses to communicate and share ideas. It is place where you can buy, sell and communicate with real people. I am trying to develop a social network of people who know and realize that the government will not be able to bail us out now or in the future, and any stimulus package that they pass, will only serve to empower the wealthy elite, and will further serve to enslave the rest of us. Somehow different ones have used it for something other than the stated purpose. The stated purpose is located at the top left-hand corner of the home page.
Since then, I have also created, globalchat2text.ning.com and golightyear.ning.com for the purpose of encouraging young entrepreneurs and recruiting new partners in business. With that said, I realize that everybody is not interested in the same things, and that some of the people on these networks are just bored with life, and have nothing better to do. I am not sure that they will ever fully understand what they are about, or all that they could become. globalchat2text.com is about ‘Network Marketing For Dummies’ and golightyear.ning.com is for My Bulldog Team of Lightyear Reps, as well as friends of the network. We are here to serve and help you become all that you can be in Yahshua and in life. We are here for the purpose of mentoring and encouraging young entrepreneurs, as well as establishing some meaningful relationships in the future.
However, if we are not careful, we will not even take the time to really read and hear the heart of the people with whom we are networking. These social networks are not about developing virtual relationships, or an alternative way in which to relate at a personal level.
They are not about broadcasting your own reality, or spotlighting your own special interest. They should be about developing a social network for the purpose of relating and making a difference. They should be about finding real people with whom you can have a meaningful relationship, based on honesty, truth and mutual interest. They are about finding people with whom you relate, and about fellowshipping and relating with them until together you discover the purpose of Yahweh.
Another reason that I am issuing this warning is because they can become a breeding ground for contention and strife, and they have already become so diverse and segregated that they are taking on the selfish image of the person who created them. One of the reasons that they are so popular is because they represent a virtual reality that does not require any level of responsible commitment to fellowship or relate. They also represent a place where you can get caught up in spending busy-time journaling your lack-luster life with other losers that are not effectively evangelizing the world in which they live. Let’s not kid ourselves, this is not about evangelizing the world, or helping anybody, it is about having a place to express ourselves in a less intimidating way while we seek some recognition for our efforts.
Finally, social networks are not about making cyber connections or having coffee with our internet friends. It is about getting to know one another well enough that we would be willing to come together for the greater purpose of the Kingdom and life. I for one am weary of all the new Nings and Things that are one of a kind, stand alone, state of the art, or in front of the trend. All of these sayings are nothing but hype unless you go to work, do something with your life and find the real flesh and blood people with whom to relate. Sorry, I did not mean to get to preachy; but this is serious business to me and our lives depend on it. Yahweh spoke to me just two days ago and said, “What I cannot kill about you, I will destroy” If you would like to hear more about this then it will require you asking about it. Thanks for listening. You mean a lot to me and I would not want you to lose out on all that Yahweh is saying and doing right now.

Thanks for the warning. You are certainly on target with your concern. The really important thing to understand is that, whatever the venue, Jesus is Lord of relationship. It's not about "Let's Make a Deal."
Love!
